By about week 10 An initial visit, ideally before about 10 weeks: your history, your medicines and the estimated due date. 2. Weeks 11–14 The dating scan confirms how far along the pregnancy is and how many babies there are. 3. Weeks 16–24 Most women start to feel the baby move between about 16 and 24 weeks. 4. Weeks 18–21 The anomaly scan is a detailed look at how the baby is forming and where the placenta lies. 5. Weeks 24–28 A glucose test for gestational diabetes is commonly done between about 24 and 28 weeks. 6. From week 24 From about 24 weeks the bump is measured and plotted to follow the baby’s growth. 7. From week 28 From around 28 weeks checks come every two or three weeks, then closer together. 8. About week 40 The estimated due date is at about 40 weeks; towards the end, the baby’s position is checked.
